Searching for a Substance Abuse Treatment Center in Lorain, OH
The beginning of Lorain’s story starts with the Delaware Indians. The name of the original settlement was “Mouth if the Black River.” The river itself used to have many names some of which are, “Reneshaua River,” and the “La Riviere de la Cuiliene.”
The pioneer, John S. Reid is primarily responsible for the settlement that was soon expanded by his sons and son I law. They named the city Charleston but the name was abandoned in favor of its original name, Black River Village. They stayed Black River Village until 1874, when they were incorporated as Lorain.
In the 2010 census Lorain has a total of 64,097 residents, which made them one of Ohio’s top ten largest cities. For a time, the Ford Motor Company had contracts with VAW to produce a line of cars at the Lorain Assembly Plants. Operations were ceased in 2005 because they couldn’t agree on another contract or the terms therein.
Now, one of the largest employers is the United States Steel mill which employs thousands of residents from the city. The building is the longest building in the city and stretched 3 miles on the Southside of the city.
One of the things people fail to realize about Lorain is that they are willing to help all people who may struggle. They even have rehabilitation centers that you can take advantage of, if you are struggling with a substance abuse addiction.
