Substance Abuse from Redding, California
In the city of Redding, California one can only admire the sight of a river running through the entire town.
The Sacramento River, when seen from high above, runs throughout the entire city of Redding. However, a more unnatural element of society is also running through the city.
While drugs and alcohol may have uses in certain capacities that are beneficial (usually in the medical field); many people often use drugs and alcohol for recreational purposes.
Recreational use of drugs and alcohol will generally escalate into a fully-fledged addiction. Meaning the occasional use of alcohol or drugs is quite risky.
While many people may think that addiction is a moral and hopeless situation, there is help for those who can find a light at the end of the tunnel.
People who can find within themselves enough motivation, willingness and dedication to make a change in their lives, can break away from the chains of addiction.
Even if you believe in your heart you cannot get away from addiction, it is by no means impossible to get a life in sobriety and pursue recovery.
Generally, if you are having a hard time being motivated to pursue treatment, you may not be viewing your drug or alcohol use in a realistic and appropriate light.
Oftentimes, newly recovering individuals are asked to weigh the positive aspects of use, and the negatives. Usually, people may list the positive areas of use as “It makes me feel good” or “It helps me forget about things.”
However, it seems that negatives outweigh the positives, as the list of negatives consists of far more things like “I lost my job because of using,” “I can’t see my family anymore because I drink too much,” or “My friends don’t talk to me so much anymore because I’m always somewhere else using,” and many more.
If you are having a difficult time finding the motivation to pursue treatment, give us a call. We will be able to answer any concerns or questions you may have around getting treatment (866) 578-7471.
