There is nothing more frightening than watching a child spiral out of control as a result of drug and Alcohol abuse. Unfortunately, the disease of addiction tends to affect and claim the lives of our youth and young adult more than any other age group.

According to the National Institute of Drug Abuse, NIDA, 22.6 percent of 18-20-year-olds reported having used an illicit substance in the last month in 2013. That’s nearly one-quarter of young adults just who just graduated high school having engaged in the use of an illegal substance.

Alcohol statistics are even more frightening. Approximately 20 percent of college students qualify as having a substance abuse disorder related to Alcohol. And just under 700,000 students between the ages of 18 and 24 have been assaulted by another student under the influence of Alcohol. All data as reported by the National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism.

As friends and family members of young loved ones, only the best is hoped for our younger members. When children are injured, assaulted, raped or killed while under the influence of drugs or Alcohol, reality is nothing short of tragic.

There is hope for those with substance abuse and addiction problems. Below is listed a compilation of treatment centers that accept or are focused on younger individuals.
