Substance abuse problems are not animals that you want to try to tame. Using drugs and alcohol to relieve pain and stress may be fun but it is dangerous. It can lead your body to develop a chemical dependency. There are only three ways to end an addiction: rehab, prison or death. Achieving sobriety in rehab, going to prison to cold turkey your addiction or dying from an overdose. Those are the only three ways your addiction will leave you alone.

If you are sick and tired of being sick and tired, then please call (866) 578-7471 . It can be hard to know where to get started. We want to help you with that.

Do I Need Detox and Rehab for Prescription Drug Addiction?

The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) reported that 8.76 million people abused prescription drugs in 2010. Prescription drug abuse is on the rise in the US. Many people who abuse prescriptions do so because they think it is not illegal. In turn a lot of those same people, think prescription drugs are not addictive. That is not true. Numerous prescription drugs hold the power to do as much damage as cocaine and heroin.

If you develop an addiction to any kind of prescription drug, then there is a good chance you will need to enroll into a detox and rehab program. Painkillers and stimulants have the same effect on your body as a lot of street drugs do. So, in order to fully recover from an addiction you will need to clean your body out in detox then learn how to cope with your addiction in rehab.

AA and NA meetings are held daily by the 12-step community. These meetings are great ways to people in recovery to connect with one another and help each other stay focus on their sobriety.
