Searching for a Substance Abuse Treatment Center in Jacksonville, NC

Though the county of Onslow was created in 1731, Camp Lejeune, now Jacksonville, wasn't created until 1941. Jacksonville was established to honor President Andrew Jackson. It has long been argued whether or not President Jackson was actually born in North Carolina, but those who live there have no such doubts. They firmly believe the former president was born and raised in North Carolina. He was born in a little city called Waxhaw's and as it sits in the border of North Carolina and South Carolina, it could be argued that he was born in both states. He is the only President whose state of birth is unknown.

In 1849, the city of Jacksonville was finally laid out, it was easy to access the New River and transport goods. The growth of the city has remained steady, even after Camp Lejeune was annexed in 1990.

The rich history and proud heritage speaks volumes of the kind of people who make Jacksonville their home. They are warm and welcoming and they encourage those who are going through hard times t get the help they need. They have even established a couple rehabilitation centers for those who need to kick a drug or alcohol addiction can go and get the help they need, before it's too late.

Going through rehab can be tough but it could be better if you research what you'll be going through before you go through it. The first stage is detox. This stage should be completed in a rehabilitation center under the care of medical staff. Detox rids all the toxins that are in your body, during this time you may experience withdrawals. This is one of the hardest parts. You will crave your substance of choice more than anything you ever wanted. You'll be sick for it, but when it's over you feel like a completely new person. You feel more alive and ready to face whatever's next.

Think about going to another state or city for your treatment. When you travel for treatment, you get away from all the harmful conditions that are contributing to the temptations for you to abuse substances. Traveling for treatment also gives you the opportunity to reflect on your treatment during your travel time.

If you feel like you need to be in a rehabilitation facility, give us a call at (866)578-7471 so we can get you started.
