Addiction and alcoholism usually grow under the circumstances of being taken lightly. Many people who abuse drugs and alcohol to relive stress and drama out of their life, think they can stop whenever they want. But the problem arises when they try to stop and cannot. Once they try to quit using harmful substances or at least a smaller dosage, they feel their body start to become ill. This in turn usually makes them take to more.

This happens because their body has developed a chemical dependency to substance that they are abusing. Their brain has been rewired to think that it needs substances to feel normal. When you do not feel normal, you feel bad about yourself, which fuels the cycle of abuse with that substance.

How Do I Kick My Addiction?

There are only three ways to end an addiction: death, rehab or prison. Many people just hope that they will outgrow their addiction one day. That does not happen. Getting cleaned up in rehab, being arrested and having to go sober cold turkey in prison or dying are the only ways you will ever be able to get an addiction not leave you alone.
