Searching for a Substance Abuse Treatment Center in Raleigh, NY

In 1792, Raleigh, North Carolina became a reality and was name the states capital. Raleigh was named after Sir Walter Raleigh, was tried to establish one of the first English Colonies on the shores of this budding country in 1588. North Carolina is the only state, currently, who has established and planned for the city to be the seat of government.

Park land covers more than 4,300 acres, which isn't a surprise considering the forefathers dubbed Raleigh, "œThe City of Oaks," They dedicated themselves to protecting and maintaining the woods and paths.

If you're more of a culture buff, you can check out the multiple Broadway shows, watch original plays in the park, and go to the Opera, or Ballet, visit the many museums dedicated to North Carolina history and sciences.

Keeping their community clean and sober is a top priority for Raleigh. They have many rehabilitation centers that they have that people can take advantage of if they live here ore are just visiting.

It's hard to keep track of everyone so if you or someone you know is suffering from a substance abuse addiction, give us a call at (866)578-7471, we help find you the sources you need to make an educated decision about what you want to do with your life.
If that decision involves going into a rehabilitation center near you, then we can help get you set up with everything you need. We can even verify your insurance before you make any decision!

Is Alcohol More Addictive Than Drugs?

The answer to that depends on the individual substance abuser. While there are drugs that are highly addictive like crack cocaine, meth and heroin, where some people can become addicted after just a couple uses, some people aren't addicted to these after many uses. The reason for this is that they may not be predisposed to addiction.

Addiction is passed down genetically, and it can also be acquired. However, people whose parents were addicts won't automatically become addicts. People with mental health issues are more prone to become addicted. Addiction is a chronic behavioral disease. Some people become addicted after repeated use.

Once addicted, the brain continues to change to promote even more substance abuse. It affects the memory and how the brain prioritizes things. Your brain will make abusing substances a top priority, which affects willpower and makes it difficult for people to quit using.

Think about traveling outside of Raleigh for your substance abuse treatment. Traveling for treatment gets you away from the negative conditions that can lead to substance use.

Going through rehab will be one of the smartest and hardest decisions you'll probably ever have to make, but it'll be a decision well worth making. By getting clean you are investing in your future, so make sure that you join a fellowship, so you don't have to walk the path alone. You can supplement your recovery by joining a weekly group meeting. Group meetings enable you to meet people just like you, who are struggling with a similar addiction. You can create a support group here, and even find a sponsor to help you on a personal basis. Another effective way to help your recovery is to participate in a 12-step program. Working the steps will help you maintain your sobriety.
