Its industry grew to include national distribution of the locally brewed beer, Chief Oshkosh. Today, the economy spans a wide array of industries, including aeronautics, specialty vehicles, and manufacturing.

Oshkosh has many listings on the National Register of Historic Places. It is a small town with big city amenities, such as the Grand Opera House. Downtown boasts the Gallery Walk, as well as numerous musical festivals, Menominee Park and Menominee Park Zoo.

It’s also the home of the third largest university in the state, University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh. With a large student body comes dining and entertainment options to satisfy any palette.

Even in an idyllic spot as this, the disease of addiction destroys many lives. Addiction requires expert treatment, as with any illness. Sobriety is not always easy and maintaining it takes work, however the rewards are endless and greater than can be imagined while in the grip of this deadly disease.

Oshkosh has rehabs in the area that help you as long as you are ready and willing work hard. It is not an easy journey, but you are worth the effort.

For many, travelling for treatment is the best option. Getting away from potentially negative influences will give you a better chance of getting and staying sober. Travelling for treatment has the added benefit of allowing the individual to choose where to spent his or her time in treatment. Why not find a center where blue skies and sunshine will help lift your mood while your work on yourself?

How Can I Help a Friend Stop Using?

An intervention is the best way to get someone headed in the right direction. The conversation simply confronts the person about his or her using and highlights the need for change. Usually, the person is encouraged to enter a treatment program, but every case is different.

Consider consulting a professional before staging an intervention. The professional will help you prepare and execute the intervention as smoothly and successfully as possible.

If you or someone you love is struggling with substance abuse, get help today. We can help you. All you have to do is call (866) 578-7471 .

For many people, 12-step programs are the only method of treating the disease of addiction that works. Millions of people worldwide have overcome their disease with the help of programs such as Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous. Everyone who joins a 12-step program is encouraged to get a sponsor, work the steps and attend meetings regularly. Meetings are in a welcoming group setting that encourages everyone to share what difficulties they have gone through. Your story can always help someone, as someone else’s story will help you. If you are struggling with substance abuse, find a meeting in your area today and start healing.
