Renew Your Life from New Braunfels, TX

New Braunfels was developed as a city in 1845 by Prince Carl of Solms-Braunfels. He named the settlement after his hometown in Germany. The city of approximately 57, 740 people holds the “Wurstfest” every November to commemorate its origins.

Every city struggles with drug addiction and New Braunfels is no different. Its citizens have to contend with this reality on a daily.

Drug addiction is a disease. It is not a choice. People who live in active addiction literally have had their brains rewired in ways that take away their power of choice. In order to get back their power, they will have to seek out treatment in many cases.

Sadly, a lot of people who need treatment do not seek it. This happens for multiple reasons. Two of the most frequent reasons are: they don’t want to or they don’t feel like they can afford it. The former reason is a legitimate barrier. If someone doesn’t want treatment, you can’t force them to get it. However, the price barrier can be mitigated.

Is Treatment Affordable?

Treatment—specifically inpatient, residential treatment—can prove quite pricey. However, the good news is that a lot of insurance companies will pay for most, if not all the treatment costs.

The reason why insurance companies are more willing to do this is because insurance companies are realizing a lot more that addiction is a disease. Because of that, people will need treatment as it’s just as important as a major physical health problem.

In addition, most treatment centers will provide payment options to help mitigate the treatment costs. Some places offer scholarships or payment plans to help with it. Everybody deserves treatment regardless of income.

If you know somebody needing treatment, consider advising them to travel for treatment. Traveling for treatment helps remove people from the situations and people who contributed to their addiction in the first place. It allows people to have a new beginning. It also provides opportunity to find different types of treatment centers because the one in somebody’s hometown might not sufficiently help the individual in need. Addiction is a treatable disease. Find treatment, find recovery.
