There is no part of addiction treatment and recovery that incites as much fear and anxiety as detox. The detox process is the first stage of treatment and involves the removal of all addictive substances from the body.

Withdrawal symptoms vary by substance and can not only be excruciating, but life-threatening. Alcohol, one of the most commonly abused substances, and prescription Benzodiazepines can cause deadly withdrawal seizures. Due to the extreme nature and danger associated with these substances, anyone who has become physically addicted or dependent on these substances absolutely must find a medical detox center that provides patients with a Benzodiazepine, such as Valium, detox taper.

This taper eliminates the danger associated with withdrawing from Alcohol and Benzodiazepines. The highest dose is given initially and as the client progresses, the dosage is decreased until he or she is

completely free of the taper. This approach also dramatically decreased the level of discomfort and the amount and severity of withdrawal symptoms that the individual experiences.

No one should go through the detox process alone. Find a detox center that provides a Valium taper and rest knowing that you are in good hands.

Below is a list of detox facilities that offer a Valium taper.
