When considering the need for treatment, cost is always a real concern. Without insurance, or the ability to pay out-of-pocket, potential patients will be turned away, and denied rehabilitation services by most private providers. Anyone struggling with addiction deserves the right to receive treatment, regardless of race, creed, gender, or income. State funded rehab is a viable option for those seeking help that cannot afford to pay for private rehab, or those who do not qualify for insurance.

The assumption that private rehab provides higher quality care than state funded programs is inaccurate. Just because a facility is private does not mean that it is legitimate, or even accredited. On the other hand, state funded rehabs are strictly regulated due to their direct oversight by state government.

Every state offers alternative options to private treatment. Many of these programs are available free of charge for eligible participants. While state funded treatment programs may not be classified as luxury treatment, they still provide the highest standard of care necessary. More importantly, these state sponsored programs provide an atmosphere conducive to recovery. They utilize cost-effective and proven tactics to ensure a comparable success rate to any other private pay program available.

If you are seeking help for yourself or a loved one, and do not have the ability to pay for services, there is hope. Below is a listing of certified, state funded addiction treatment programs available.
