Addiction, Holistic Detox and Rehab

Holistic treatment has a double meaning when it comes to addiction recovery. While some define Holistic detoxification and rehab as simply removing the chemicals from the body using natural remedies, the more common use of the term in the addiction recovery field is more intensive.

When a treatment center describes their program as “Holistic” it is usually in reference to their all-encompassing program that treats the mind body and spirit through a variety of different therapies and treatments. Getting rid of the toxins from the body is just the start. Holistic centers will give you tool to help you avoid putting them back in.

Holistic programs help the addict to from new pathways in their brain that allow them to rebuild their life and react to situations differently. In order to avoid relapse the addict must avoid old behaviors and actions so that they can be happy and healthy and not return to using to cover up the issues that caused them to use in the first place. Through multiple different therapy models such as equine therapy, rapid eye movement desensitizing and reprocessing, dialectic and behavioral therapy and more, Holistic treatment allows the person to reconnect spiritually and emotionally and live a happier life without feeling the need to use drugs or alcohol to feel normal. When looking for a treatment center it is important to look at all of the options available to you and what services they offer. It is important to remember that addiction is not only a physical issue. Alcohol and Drug addiction affects the addicts psychological well being as well.

Holistic Detox

Start Your Healthy Life with Holistic Detox

While addicted to drugs or alcohol, most people do not care about the chemicals and unhealthy calories they are consuming. In fact, many addicted people make dangerous decisions while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Driving while intoxicated and unprotected sex are some of the more common decisions made by addicted people.

These decisions can be harmful and often times, even fatal. In the moment, it is unlikely that the addicted person is concerned about his or her quality of life. As one may imagine, the addicted person is not too concerned about the health and safety of others in those moments either. Generally, health is the furthest thing from the mind of someone who is addicted to drugs and getting high.

That is not to say that an addicted person is a bad person. The drugs or alcohol they are consuming habitually are to blame. They rob the addicted person of their integrity and compassion for others, among other side effects.

Finding the right Program

It might take a little bit of searching to find the right treatment program for you. However, you want to spend the time because finding the treatment that you feel the most comfortable with will make a big difference in your recovery.

Why Choose Holistic Detox?

When looking for a treatment center it is important to look at all of the options available to you and what services they offer. It is important to remember that addiction is not only a physical issue. Alcohol and Drug addiction affects the addicts psychological well being as well.

The addicts brain has been rewired to think that it needs the chemicals in the drug more than they need sleep or sustenance. It takes time and practice to rewire the brain to avoid this type of thinking. In order to prevent relapse after the chemicals have been removed from the body, it is important to address the spiritual and psychological affects to retrain the brain. This is done through Holistic detoxification and rehab facilities.

At Holistic facilities the focus is placed on the whole nature of the addiction in the mind, body and spirit instead of simply removing the toxins from the body. If you think that this sounds like what you or your loved one needs then call now to start the process of finding the right treatment center to best help them or yourself.
