ER check in was fast. Triage staff not the friendliest. Lab tech was training some one. The main lab tech was rude and jabbed the IV in my arm. Bathrooms were disgusting. Not clean . Toilet paper on floor. The bathroom in the lobby was just as bad as the one in the ER. Urine on the floor in ER. Just Gross! This an old hospital in need of some fresh paint and updates.

My mother came in for a couple of procedures and I must say the treatment she received from the staff was wonderful. Her doctors, nurses and other staff members were friendly and wonderful. We even had the housekeeping staff ask us on two occasions If they could get us anything. Very good people. The reason for the lower ratings is the physical environment of my mom's room. A patient's room is used for recuperation and it's important that this living space provides a physically, as well as mentally positive experience. The furnishings needed updating and their were certainly signs cleaning was needed. The vent in the bathroom was filthy, as well as the air conditioner vent. The ac unit looked like the find you would find in a cheap, older hotel. It did not cool very well, even though it was reading 72 degrees. The vent here was also filthy. Not what you want after having surgery. The bedside table looked like it had come from someone's home after 20 years of use. Window corners also had a great deal of accumulated dust, dirt and who knows what else. Funds should definitely be provided to upgrade the patient rooms and basic cleanliness everywhere should be a top priority. Make the surroundings as welcoming as the staff.
