They have flowing dunes that you can see for miles, Lake Michigan glimmering and shining in all her glory, some small lakes that are inland, orchards you can go picking in and fields to explore.

Anywhere you turn is beauty you never imagined. If you’re looking for a place that offers life’s simple pleasures in a cute little package, then this is it.

It may be hard to imagine for such a small town but they have some of the best rehabilitation centers that Michigan can offer. They are dedicated to the health and wellness of their patients and really get to know them so that they can give you the best treatment suited for your needs. You may consider hosting an intervention in order to get your friend or family member to realize that help is not only needed, but readily available.

Worried about payment? Most private insurance companies will cover the cost of treatment. If you want to see if your insurance is covered, check out our Verify Insurance page and learn more.

Another option is to join a group like AA, NA or any of the others that offer 12-Step programs designed to help you resist, understand, and fight your addiction in the future.

Is It Easy to Become Addicted to Drugs or Alcohol?

It depends on the person. There are many factors that determine how and why people become addicted. Some of them include: genetics, frequency of use, the substance itself, a person’s sensitivity to substances, mental and physical health issues, psychology issues.

Addiction is passed down from generation to generation through genetics. Although that doesn’t guarantee the offspring of addicts will automatically become addicted. The psychological propensity to addiction is also a factor. One person can use a couple of times and become addicted, whereas someone else can use for months and never become addicted.

If you or someone you know is addicted to substances, consider traveling for your treatment. Traveling to another city or state gets you away from stresses and harmful conditions that may make it easier for you to abuse substances.
