Getting Clean and Staying Clean from Abused Medications and Other Drugs in Clearwater, FL.

In the City of Clearwater, one can only admire the beautiful views of the ocean it provides. However, people who live in such a paradise can still be subject to something as ugly as drug addiction.

Its beautiful shores and relaxing atmosphere make it a great destination to travel to for treatment, however. Rehab programs start with detox, the process of cleansing the body of all the toxins of drugs and/or alcohol, which is best done in the medically supervised environment of a treatment facility.

After your rehabilitation program is complete, it's usually a good idea to reach out to fellowships and meeting groups in your local area. This provides you with a solid and supportive community and resource to help you stay on the path of recovery.

Drug addiction has claimed the lives of many, call us at (866) 578-7471 and get the help you need before its too late. If it's a friend or family member who is suffering from addiction, you can still call to get help. Intervention has saved countless lives and it can save the life of your loved one too.

How Does Alcohol Leave a Person's Body?

The National Council on Alcohol and Drug Dependence (NCADD) conducted a test on this in 2013, and found that when alcohol is absorbed into the bloodstream, the lungs exhale 5% of it, kidneys filter 5%, and the remaining 90% is broken down by the liver. The study also found that the liver metabolizes (breaks down) alcohol at the rate of one standard drink per hour. There's no way to speed this metabolism up, including drinking coffee.

If you are dependent on alcohol and know you need treatment to overcome the disease of addiction, consider traveling for treatment. Traveling for treatment can remove you from the people, conditions and environment that may lead you to drink. Traveling for treatment also provides you with a level of anonymity. You will be less likely to encounter someone you know when you travel for treatment. Traveling for treatment can also provide meditation and catharsis during the travel to and from treatment.

Even if someone has entered treatment for drug addiction, there are still numerous elements one must consider in order to stay clean from drugs.  In order remain abstinent, one can utilize local meetings (like Narcotics Anonymous) and other support groups to help stay motivated for recovery and avoid potential relapses.  Use the map below to find a meeting near you. Also consider joining a 12-step program to help you on the path to recovery. 12-steps enables people to take accountability for their addiction, and to make amends to those whom they have harmed.
