How Long Does Rehab Last?

Everyone will have a different rehab program to go through so there is no clear-cut answer to that question. Most people will have to complete a detoxification process before they enter rehab. In detox, your body will be able to break the physical dependence you have to the substances that you abused during your addiction.

During the detox process is when you will experience withdrawal symptoms. Withdrawal symptoms occur because your body is trying to learn how to operate without being under the influence of drugs or alcohol. There are inpatient detox centers that offer constant medical attention. This will allow you to be kept comfortable while your body flushes itself clean

A life of Recovery can present different levels of difficulty at times, as some people often struggle with maintaining motivation to live in a life of abstinence.  Without motivation, or knowledge about addiction, people face increased encounters with relapse.  To provide an answer to these occurrences of relapse, cities like Knoxville Tennessee have many local support groups and meetings (such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Celebrate Recovery and Narcotics Anonymous) to provide extra information on addiction and addition motivation to decrease any chances of a relapse.  These groups are free to attend, so all you would have to do is locate one using our meeting search tool and build your own system of social support.
