This hospital is very nice inside and very clean. The staff however are not too nice. The ladies at the primary care front counter always seem to have an attitude. The hospital is also very unorganized, wish they had a separate obgyn section instead of having to make several different appointments to get a regular check up and to get a ultrasound. The doctor always seems to rush us and is not very helpful. I am going to make sure to plan my next pregnancy so I do not have to be up in Nome and deal with the stress and this unorganized hospital.

Went for the ribbon cutting ceremony for this brand new state of the art hospital that will service all the villages in the Bering Straight, Norton Sound Coastal areas, and of course all of Nome. According to all the dignitaries who spoke at the event, this was years in the making with the help of the late Alaskan Senator Ted Stevens whom approved of this facility. It was an honor to be there and be part of the religious ceremonies, listen to tribal music and watch native eskimo dance. Lot's of the native citizens came out wearing there furs. It was a cold sunny day, so it could not have been more perfect.
