there is never a feeling that you are being categorized or judged. This staff has not forgotten where they've been. The feeling i get is one of compassion and concern. That is because they are all to aware that we are the addict still suffering...and they are there to do the Christlike thing and help alleviate that for us. They don't go the extra mile they go ten extra miles. The only thing that could make this detox better would be Baskin Robbins 31 labors of ice cream available 24x7 and a hot tub..hint hint.

Bridgeway detox is the most genuine and caring as well as knowledgeable detox in the US. I've been an addict for 35 years with my sadistic love affair with heroin. I've been to countless detoxes across the western United States. So that is where my opinion is formed from. Bridgeway is run by addicts for addicts. These people are selfless and professional both. When I tell you that they have mastered the art of catering to the junkie in the throws of detox, I'm not exaggerating. What does a junkie care about that is detoxing? First and foremost we don't want to feel the pain of withdrawal. For this, Bridgeway uses subtext. Not to be confused with suboxin. Subutext doesn't have the bupanorphine in it so the person withdrawing can immediately feel relief from the body pain. With the pain out of the way...there's the anxiety and depression to conquer. Bridgeway has medicine to overcome the mental state in the throws of despair. So sleep is possible and probable at bridgeway as there is Trazadone for that. Clonodine and hydroxide for the sufferer as well. They also have a nausea and anti diahrettic. Now that those symptoms are taken care of, your probably jonsing for a cigarette. How about nicotine gum, yes that is also available. The food is amazing and there is variety and alot of it. Anytime of day. Then when your insatiable need for sugar or caffeine roars ...up till three pm you can drink all the coffee you want. The staff has chocolate bars stashed behind the desk and all you have to do is ask. Popsicles are in the freezer. For the women detoxing who's libido starts talking to them, the shower is equipped. Now if you've ever detoxed from opiates you won't judge me for that last sentence as only through detox do I or have I had a dream with what guys would call a happy ending and usually that dream has no explicit sexual content at all. I could be eating a snowcone when it happens. There are no mandatory groups or acupuncture, like other popular detoxes not mentioning any names HOOPER. To top off it all off, you have staff that will always take the time and effort to help set you up with a place to go when sobriety is your goal after detox. They will just listen if you need to talk. If you do have insomnia then the graveyard shift will become acquainted with you and they will call you by name. Think about that. Someone you've never met before addresses you by your first name. Your not a number here. Your a person who has a problem they are familiar with. There is neverjudgemental
