Looking for Treatment from Longmont, CO
Named after Major Stephen H. Long, and Army officer, Longmont was founded in 1870 when a group of prominent men in Chicago decided to start a new town in the Old West of Colorado. Longmont is blessed with rich soil, but having an arid climate, watering crops was a problem.
The solution was the large irrigation ditches that became one of Longmont's greatest achievement, delivering water from the rivers to fruit trees, wheat fields and pea farms.
Longmont, like other towns in Colorado has not been immune to drug and alcohol addiction. In 2010, a National Survey of Substance Abuse Treatment Services study found there were 437 substance abuse treatment centers in the state, with close to 40,000 individuals enrolled. 16,471 of these- nearly two thirds were alcohol abuse treatment, while the rest were receiving treatment for the abuse of other substances.

Traveling for Treatment
Traveling for treatment may also prove necessary in order to nurture and develop your recovery in a place that's not familiar and easily triggering. Though home might provide a sense of comfort, comfort isn't always the best friend of someone who is searching for recovery.
It sometimes takes leaving your comfort zone in order to learn how to live a life of sobriety. Start a new life, find the best place to recover for you.
In order to successfully maintain sobriety after leaving treatment, it is important to find a local 12-step meeting. These meetings gather people with the intent to provide fellowship and healing. In these meetings, people have the opportunity to grow with peers and find mentors and sponsors. Sobriety doesn't happen in isolation. It takes a whole team.
