Hallucinogens (Psychedelic drugs) are a family of drugs that alter ones perceptions of reality, time and sensory functions. Though it is unclear to researchers how exactly these drugs induce hallucinations, there is a clear connect between hallucinogens and an interference with neurotransmitter activity. Certain plants contain naturally occurring hallucinogenic chemicals (Magic Mushrooms, Peyote), but Hallucinogens can also be synthesized in a lab (PCP, LSD).
