Great place for guidance to a spiritual way of living clean and sober. This place has impacted my life in a positive way that I'll never forget. It's not about the destination, but the journey!

My experience at river house was honestly the best and most respectful sober living home that actually cares about your opinions and respects your beliefs there is no judgement at this house you are accepted for who you are and there is a no using policy which is strictly enforced and is a safe environment to get sober I highly recommended it I’ve been to multiple sober livings this is by far the best one in Louisiana that not only cares about your recovery but also who you are as a person and puts recovery befor even money.

This is THE PLACE you want to be if you want to be clean and learn to stay sober. The owner (Nic) has been clean for longer than most kids in the house have been alive and he knows his stuff. The fact that he is at the house almost every day and will sit with you for hours at a time shows he cares.I would add that It's not going to be a great place if you think you know it all already. If you did, you wouldn't be reading this review.

If you want it, this place has it. Very nice place and solid recovery. They don't have any magic recovery dust to sprinkle on you and keep you sober but the house does have a system in place to keep the guys in line. Nick (the house manager) is very serious about sobriety and will not tolerate any using or using behavior. Again, great place for those that are serious.

This is an amazing house. In the 7 months I've lived there, I have experienced some awesome recovery and made friends for life. The guys in the house and house manager are great and serious about recovery and without the Riverhouse I wouldn't be where I am today. This house helped to save my life.

In short... Riverhouse is an A++ house. Riverhouse is a recovery focused environment that nurtures personal accountability, dependability and a reintegration. It’s run with love, care and concern for the guy’s best interests. It’s a safe place to recover and very warm and inviting (not hospital or facility like) in addition to the grounds being expansive and beautiful to say the least.On a more personal note, you will be asked to do things that cause growth as a person, build self-esteem and become an active/productive member of society and of course the house. Through the principles of recovery and most importantly, your own work, you can become the person you have always dreamed of becoming. The support is here but recovery can’t be given. Those who won't do the work don’t make it. The house holds each member accountable and responsible. One of the greatest functions of the house is the fellowship, camaraderie with others struggling through important changes needed for a healthy, happier life with people who have "been there".Over all if you are looking for a new life in recovery then the Riverhouse has all the best factors to find a new way to live that you will have to see for yourself.

What's my review on this place? "Brotherhood that is founded in the protection of sobriety." The most accurate and helpful reviews, in my opinion, are those that come from an actual experience and/or what someone sees or hears from those who are directly involved. I am the mother of a member of this home. And the reason I call it a home and not a house is because that is how it was described and explained to me by the house manager, Nick, the first day I spoke with him to get more information. So I will start with an attempt to summarize his words, "This is a place that I want everyone who lives here to call home. When they drive up in the driveway I want them to feel like they are home. I want them to bring in the things they need to feel surrounded by the comfort of being at home. This is not just another sober living house. The rules that guide our program are more structured and more strict than most you will find elsewhere but that is why is works. We are very clear with our house rules and expectations. Every member is very clear about how serious and protective this house is with sobriety. We work together to hold each other accountable and we know what it means to "work a program". I cannot say if your son will or will not relapse and I will do whatever I can to help. It is ultimately up to him, but I promise you it will be uncomfortable to live in his old mindset if he is here."My son has a long way to go but he is sober today! He looks awesome and he sounds good. He came to this house with hope and a strong faith. I pray it will become the "home" it is intended to be and that it will foster his journey in learning to enjoy the awesomeness in livimg life sober.I made a stop by the River House this week to visit my son. This was my first time to see the house, they call home, and I was amazed! Not by any elaborate decor or any materialistic elements but rather by an serene environment and a setting that was uniquely beautiful. This home has sooooo much character. I was impressed. The men there when I visited were very polite and the house was well kept (also impressive). They have something very special going on there and I do believe that Nick, the house manager, is a big reason for that. He plays a strategic role in creating what is truly a "Brotherhood that is founded in the protection of sobriety".

As far as sober homes go, Riverhouse is BY FAR the best in Louisiana. Nic has consistently held high standards of care and commitment to the recovering males in Lafayette and surrounding areas. I have been in the chemical dependency field for 20 years now and feel qualified to recommend the house as a 1st class structured sober living home. The accountability and support that the men in the house both get from Nic and give to each other is like nothing I have ever experienced in Sobriety let alone seen in the chemical dependency field.

The Riverhouse is a very helpful recovery sober house. There are good people & the house manager is honest, straightforward & always willing to help. It’s a clean house sobriety & sanitary wise, with rooms comfortable to live in. it’s a pretty big house, on your down time you can hit the in house gym or watch a movie on the 75’ inch in the living room. The standard requirements are attending NA or AA meetings & attain a sponsor. It’s a very great living environment.

This house has had one of the strongest impacts on my life. After making the decision to change my life and get sober, I don't believe I could of chose a better sober living house. The house manager nick really takes recovery serious and will do every thing in his power to help you grow and be a better person in your recovery, as long as you are willing to do the work. The guys in the house are like one big family and all stick together. No matter what you go through you can always count on someone to be there for you and help you to push forward through anything. It's not just a place to go after treatment to do what you want and have some were to lay your head. If that's what your looking for I don't recommend river house. If you are serious about your sobriety and really wanting to change as a person and learn to live a healthy and productive life, you will definitely learn the skills here. You are always held accountable for your actions and are expected to do the necessary work needed to stay sober and keep growing in your sobriety. The river house saved my life. Big thanks to nick and all the guys at the house that was there for me through my stay at river house. I couldn't be the man I am today without you guys.

Hands down the best men’s sober living house in Lafayette, La. The hands on, recovery based living environment that Nick provides far exceeds other sober living houses in our area. I believe in work that’s being done here so much that when my son came into sobriety a little over 4 months ago, I contacted Nick. I am grateful for Riverhouse Sober Living!

I have been clean and sober for 1300+day. I got sober at River House after attending treatment. It gave me a real chance to recover from the life I was living. No frills, real deal sobriety. Nick doesn't want your money, he wants people who are serious about changing their life. Many late nights and long conversations with the owner about real life stuff. Glad this place exists.
