This is a good rehab if you are coming off of hard substances. But if you aren’t, you are in danger of them feeding you so many detox meds. I spent two days in ICU and maybe another day in a regular hospital room. They were great about visiting me, as they should have been seeing as how they almost killed me. My blood pressure was 58/30 and I had to go through the trauma of having a pick inserted and sewn onto my jugular vein. I came back to continue the program, assuming this had to be some fluke of nature. Surely some understandable mistake. Friendly house got overly involved in my marriage, restricting contact with my husband to the point I had one contact with him in two weeks. They ultimately cut me off from my spouse who I was supposed to have therapy with. This was a direct result of the house, a medical facility, mind you, being left unattended and a 51 year old client got up at three am and began making frantic phone calls on the street. They accused me of calling his rehab and when I asked them to pull video footage they were unable to navigate their own security system, which was super cool seeing as how there had been gun shots, spotlights, police and at least one apprehended criminal in the adjacent yard that night according to those who were awake. I was medicated into a soft coma so I missed that part. After the inefficient display of technological expertise was poorly demonstrated , I suggested a tool to resolve the issue. Literally conflict resolution. Easy peasy. Basic. I was too angry to be left with the screaming chicken head without a professionally guided processed conversation. I was denied my coping skill so I said a statement I knew would get me dismissed. I no longer felt safe there. I went and saw Marilyn’s star and headed to LAX. I will be seeing an IOP behavioral health specialist. FH was well informed of my mental state and assured they could treat me. They have little to no discernment on individualizing treatment. Might as well spin a wheel and stick yourself where you land.

Friendly House gave me life, a life to be excited for, and a life worth living.
FH has an exceptional team of professional, caring women. The time I spent there, I hold dear in my heart.
I left the beautiful “HOME” with a Grateful Heart, Sobriety, and Sisters.

Friendly House is amazing and awesome in just about every way that most females need to achieve long time sobriety. I had an incredible experience as a mature Southern mom of 3 college age children for whom life had seemed unbearable after a much needed divorce. I went from suicidal depression drowning in alcoholic tendencies to finding a way to actually love myself and life again. After 5 months of treatment in the beautiful original house I moved to the Sober Living residence for an additional 26 months. And, thanks to the incredible women I met throughout this journey, I have now been sober for the last five and one half years and still going strong. Although it is decidedly not a religious based treatment facility (and welcoming to any/all/none forms of religion I was able to reconnect to God because of the changes that occur with sobriety!

From both my experience with multiple rehabs and that of other girls I spoke with, this is hands down the absolute best rehab you’re going to find. The program offers a wide array of therapeutic activities and groups that were incredibly effective for me. The staff is extremely attentive and will drop anything to talk to the residents. In my time there, the residents themselves were also very cohesive and supportive of each other with virtually no drama (unusual for 12 girls in one house) and I think it is because the staff sets a great example and helps girls develop conflict resolution skills. Being a small facility, there is much more individualized attention than most places. I was able to work through a lot of things, thought patterns and behaviors that have been holding me back for many years and learn to handle many life situations Ina healthier way. The Friendly House emphasizes holistic health- mental, physical, emotional and spiritual. They will help you navigate any pressing outside issues and encourage communication with outside support. They are very prompt in dealing with any medical or medication issues. I was only planning to stay 30d and ended up staying 90d and it changed my life. I cannot emphasize enough how much I recommend the Friendly House.

I had the privilege of spending 1 month at Friendly House. I obtained so much knowledge in all the different groups, practiced yoga, and meditation. It didn’t feel like being in a rehab. Everyone treated me like family. The staff went above and beyond to make me feel right at home and catered to any needs I might have needed. I made lifelong relationships that I will cherish. Thank you Friendly House!

Friendly house is NOT your typical treatment center. I have been to many treatment centers and friendly house is more like a family. The groups are amazing and insightful and the staff truly cares. I have never had such a profound transformation then I’ve experienced at friendly house. Friendly house is lgbtq+ friendly, incredibly diverse, and women supporting women. I would highly recommend friendly house to anyone who is serious about recovery and is willing to do the work. This place saved my life and gave me hope.

I had the honor of being apart of Friendly House for three months and within that time I was taught coping skills, how to prevent relapse, different therapeutic techniques, and how to navigate life sober. The staff are excellent and well-attuned to the needs of each resident. They are some of the kindest, most caring and humble people I have had the privilege to meet in my recovery journey. One of the most important parts of Friendly House is that they set up multiple activities, including equine therapy, yoga or breath works. They set you up to ensure that you know that is possible to have fun AND be sober. I couldn’t recommend it more if you want to get sober around an inclusive, engaging, loving community.

Friendly House saved my life! I cannot shout on the mountaintop enough about how wonderful, professional, mindful, and loving this recovery center is. They welcome you in as if you’re entering an actual home you’re familiar with. They love you until you can love yourself. They teach you coping skills, relapse prevention strategies, life skills, how to acknowledge, process, and manage grief and loss, how to meditate, and the science of what mental health and addiction entail plus so much more! They are beyond patient! They ensure you’re set up for success while bringing in your family and support systems, so everyone is on the same page. If you’re looking to get to the root of your addiction and how to get better, this is the place for women, ALL women who wish to feel safe, secure, and loved. My life has changed all for the better thanks to this friendly facility I still hold dearly in my heart.
