CRASH – Short Term I, located at 4161 Marlborough Avenue in the City Heights neighborhood of San Diego, California, is a highly structured drug and alcohol treatment center offering both outpatient services and residential treatment for adult men. The program provides Clinically Managed Low-Intensity Residential Treatment (ASAM Level 3.1) and High-Intensity Residential Services (ASAM Level 3.5), supporting men with substance use disorders, including those with co-occurring mental health conditions.At the heart of Short Term I is a commitment to individual responsibility, accountability, and personal growth. The program emphasizes recovery planning, relapse prevention, and community reintegration, all within a supportive, peer-driven therapeutic environment. Residents take part in individual counseling, group problem-solving sessions, vocational development, addiction education, and life skills workshops aimed at promoting long-term recovery.Short Term I also offers a range of family-oriented services, including family night, supervised parent-child visitation, and a Father-to-Child support group, helping residents rebuild and strengthen family relationships during treatment. Clients are supported in setting personal goals such as reuniting with children, securing employment, or continuing education. The program includes guidance in money management, time management, job preparation, and nutrition and meal planning, empowering residents to live independently and successfully post-treatment.In addition to structured clinical services, residents contribute to the community by participating in daily responsibilities like household chores and supporting newcomers, fostering leadership, empathy, and peer accountability. While the program maintains firm structure, the team at CRASH – Short Term I leads with compassion and care, working alongside each client to ensure treatment goals are achieved.The facility is centrally located in San Diego with easy access to public transportation, and provides services in Spanish.
