About this Facility
On January, 25, 1980, a combined board leadership held its first official meeting of the newly formed Center for Alcohol & Drug Services, Inc. That was the beginning of a distinguished history combining efforts and shared success of multiple professionals and individuals dedicated to the prevention, assessment and treatment of substance abuse in the Quad Cities and surrounding communities. The organization is affectionately known as “CADS,” an acronym that implies familiarity without further explanation.
In 2000, CADS was awarded the three (3) year accreditation from the Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and has maintained this accreditation since.
This is a tangible demonstration of the quality of services and programs provided by CADS and its conformance to the standards of excellence established by the commission.
CADS is a multi-modality bi-state program licensed by the Department of Public Health in the State of Iowa and the Department of Human Services, Division of Alcohol and Substance Abuse, in the State of Illinois.
CADS celebrates their history, relevance, and the contributions of staff and board members to a broad base of constituencies. The organization has more than two decades of experience in the field of substance abuse, quality facilities, and a well-organized management structure. CADS oversees funding from multiple private and public sources, and a host of collaborative initiatives in the Quad Cities area and the states of Iowa and Illinois.
CADS is dedicated to the prevention, education, and treatment of addictions, substance abuse, and other disorders related to the harmful use of alcohol and drugs. We treat the addict, the abuser, and their family and friends.

While for the most part, the staff in general are friendly and professional and the services adequate if not better, the Doctor in charge is not only unprofessional and decidedly unprofessional, his lack of understanding and care for the patients borders on deliberate malpractice. He comes to very important conclusions without knowing anything about the patient or their history or even their names for that matter. When the place that supposed to help you refuses to do so the way their Doctor does, the patient should have options on how to proceed but at CADS there aren't anything any of the other staff can do about it. CADS is a dangerous place to go looking for help with addiction.
