Fifty seven years ago I had the great pleasure to live on St. Paul and St. George Islands to provide dental care. As an old man I can see that those days were among the most memorable days of my life. The people were wonderful. The scenery was spectacular. The wildlife amazing. There was none of the constant national political bickering or thinking about wildfires and hurricanes and such that now are mainland worries, just wonderful people living simple lives in harmony with nature. I thank the people of the St. Paul and St. George for their hospitality and wisdom in teaching me about life. Best wishes to all. Trotter the dentist

My son, Matthew Kauffman, has fallen in love with the citizens of St. Paul Island. Each Spring his excitement grows as he anticipates returning to the Island! Thank you for the kindness you've shown him. We don't travel much anymore but hope to visit St. Paul Island sometime.

On a recent visit to Alaska, my first, I was honored to meet Marissa Merculief and one of her associates in Homer, Alaska. It was an informal and friendly visit between strangers. I am a USA Ex-Pat now living in Zihuatanejo, Mexico/7 years now. As we talked I was given an excellent introductory lesson into her’s and Tribal life on St Paul Island. I was strongly pleased by her personal story and her dedication to her work on behalf of her Tribal Peoples. Thank you Marissa...for your past and current work, and for the spirit you carry within and demonstrate on justice issues for all. Steven W. De Bernardi
