About this Facility'+'+
Aletheia House is a community-based organization that has been providing substance abuse treatment and prevention services to low-income individuals, and the communities in which they live, since 1972. It is one of Alabama’s largest providers of substance abuse treatment, substance abuse/HIV prevention, employment services and affordable housing. The organization was founded by a group of dedicated volunteers to address the needs of teens who were living on the streets in Birmingham, Alabama. The Chief Operating Officer, Gloria Howard, joined the organization in 1991.Aletheia House has received national and regional recognition for its programs including the Maxwell Award of Excellence from the Fannie Mae Foundation, the John J. Gunther Award from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Certificate of Special Recognition from the Federal Housing Commissioner, and the Partnership Excellence Award from the Federal Home Loan Bank.

I did not have the option of giving them -5 stars or I would have. There is not enough time or enough space, but I will say this, after my dealings with HOPE FOR HEROES (which is a part of Aletheia House) and seeing how they have dealt with the many people and organizations regarding my case, it truly leads me to believe my case worker is utterly and completely incompetent. She does not know what or how to follow through or up on things, and her ability to clearly communicate what she needs from a person or organization is severely inadequate. What she could not do in a week and a half I accomplished in one day. Side note: public bus system takes forever.

I attended classes in 01/21/07. Have been sober on that date Jan 21'2017. 10 yrs now. Thankful for my Aletheia House friends. I have prospered so' so much since then. I would love to hear from the people who were there in 2007.
