Dilaudid (hydromorphone) is an Opioid (Narcotic) pain reliever used to treat moderate to severe pain for tissue and bone injuries, cancer and third degree burns. Like other Opioids, Dilaudid affects the CNS by regulating activity that increases pain tolerance and decreases pain perception. Dilaudid can be administered as a liquid or tablet.
