I was kicked out for a small argument with a homeless junkie in rehab who constantly threw tantrums and called people out to fight cause he thought everyone was against him cause he wasn't Mexican, when that wasn't the case... Once he gets checked he ran to staff and acted crazy when he knew he was protected... No one liked the guy cause he was constantly smoking shit in the bathroom, trying to encourage others to get high, trying to teach people different ways to get high while in rehab, eating stuff that didn't belong to him and trying to be in charge cause he knew staff had his back no matter how many things he threw, kicked or broke duringhis tantrums... Definitely a great place to get help if the same rules applied to all and staff clearly didn't show favoritism... The first step program definitely needs to clean up their act... Not cool...

I came into detox kicking and screaming... court ordered because I just couldn't seem to get it together for mental health court and probation. now, 3 months into the program, I am doing vocational training at the First Step Detox as custodial worker where I also get to talk with the women coming into the program and comfort them because I too have been there. This place has built me up from the ground up and I still have so much growing to do. Like any other place you must pick your battles, be humble, and be grateful there is a higher power OF YOUR UNDERSTANDING that can and will restore you to sanity IF you do the foot work! I plan to apply for a job once I graduate so that I may give back what has freely been given to me! Thanks to all the amazing staff and the amazing group of women that built up the fellowship that I by the grace of God was able to be a part of.... not apart from!

Saved both mine and my partner's lives. I'm not religious and initially went in with a closed mind, but once I spent some time there and was open to the programs, I had incredible results. It works if you're willing to let it work. They're strict and it's not the prettiest of facilities, but their programs and staff are solid. A large percentage of their staff includes employees that are also in recovery and can identify with what the patients have and are going through. Many times I would simply find a staff member when I needed to talk. Took me about a month to settle in and embrace the program, but once I did, the results were extraordinary. I am 3 1/2 years clean, have held a job for almost 3yrs and counting, have a beautiful 1 year old, and am going back to school to finish my degree. I tried multiple inpatient and outpatient programs throughout my addiction before I found The Mission. Give them a chance. It is amazing what can happen there once you let it. Good luck 💛

The staff treats the people there that came from jail, like dog shit. If you tell a staff member not to treat you that way then you get kicked out like you don't matter for shit! Every single person I know who has done their program has ended up even worse on drugs right afterwords I have seen noone recover THROUGH their program . It does not work there's lots of liveing proof !!!
