I came here in 2016 and forever grateful to my Case Manager at the time Marvin and Pastor George for all the help and encouragement and love they showed me. I have stayed sober and will hopefully continue to remain sober. The only draw back for me was the cook that thought he was better then the clients and Dee Dee as she hated everyone that didn't worship the floor she walked on. She attempted multiple times to have me kicked out because I didn't respect her or show her respect for that matter. I was always taught if someone is an A**Hole and you can't beat them just stay away as you have more to lose especially as my AB109 PO was a complete A**Hole himself and both wanted me locked up. But I rose to there challenge and completed this program and now assist in running a county funded program myself as a Program Coordinator. I treat everyone around me as an equal as that's what was also taught to me by those before me if you don't stay humble you forget where you came from and their are on the road to relapse. Mallory was my wonderful therapist and help me learn to forgive myself and those that always tried to block me from what my higher power had in mind for me to do and be. Their was a Case Manager there that said look around you here and only 1 of you will have over a year sober a year from now. I really took that in a bad way and then challenged myself to prove him wrong but he was completely right after 1 year I was the only person still sober and now almost 7 years removed from that date I am still sober. If your not at your rock bottom yet what's it going to take for me was sleeping one night under the first street bridge in Santana and realizing that I had not only disrespected myself but my true love ones enough and that I can't save my A** and Face at the same time something had to change and that's truly why I give it to my higher power for putting Pastor George and Marvin in my life at that moment cause they showed me love and showed me truly what a recovering addict that stay's grateful and humble can do anything they want in life. Just cause you get clean you are not better then the new comer I think Dee Dee and her lacky son the Chef there at Cooper forgot about. Dr Gerry thank you for opening my eyes to a different way of thinking with you CBT classes. I really paid attention even when it was long hot days and rather be laying in the pool. To all the people that would come and show us different things and that it's possible to change our lives only if we are willing to put in the work and stop playing the victim. I am not a victim of my environment I am a product of my choices. And today I chose to remain sober and keep fighting to gain more spiritual and mental balance. Thank you to the Man that first open Cooper for seeing that if an addict any addict given a chance in life can become a better son, father, and husband to his love ones and an even better person as his past does not define us it's our choices everyday that will define what we become. Thank you from the bottom of my families and myself heart for giving my an opportunity to prove the Dee Dee's of the world wrong.

I was going through rough times in my life. Between my addiction problems and being homeless. They really helped me out. And gave me a purpose in my life. I would recommend this program to anyone who wants to make it work.
