Atlantic Prevention Resources, Inc. was founded by a small group of concerned citizens in 1985 as the Council on Alcoholism of Atlantic County. Since that time, the organization has substantially increased the level of service that it provides to people who live, work or attend school in Atlantic County. The original funding consisted mainly of a $25,000 annual grant from the New Jersey Division of Alcoholism. And the agency became a member of the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence and the United Way of Atlantic County.
