When dropping a friend there for their stay, I didn't feel too welcomed ...the place offers no family program or visiting of any kind for patients. I found that this is the only available facility for treatment within many miles of Bellingham so there aren't other options. Bummer. I believe contact with family is important for changing ones life. It is too much of a shock to many to be isolated in their time of need.

These people are absolutely amazing! They are here to save peoples lives and they do a great job. No matter what condition you enter detox in or how you got there they are more than patient and understanding. These people are genuinely thrilled when they see someone succeed. They will bend over backwards to make sure that happens. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I realize that we all make mistakes but if you need to be here then go! This place is not a daycare or a place in the park. It is here for those who need to get there life back (period). Yes family is a great help with the healing process but it takes people who have over come there own addictions to NOT be fooled by the people they are trying to help. I say stay clean and be a better person than the one who is in there!

I was at this location for 30 plus days and I've had a good experience from this place and it has helped me identify the problems with my addiction and have been home for about 2 weeks and still living in recovery and I am glad that I have taken the steps to help improve my life and thankful I was at this place thank for the guidance I received from everyone that worked there

I've Never been, but my brother is there rn. Hopefully it's a good environment and if the staff actually cares about their patients then he'll have a better chance at a 2nd chance.🙂

NOT a treatment center. Its a department of corrections churn mill. And the conditions are deplorable. Definitely not trauma informed. They even kept some of my medications upon discharging. When I asked to leave AMA, they lied to me saying no homeless services are available in the area when i asked what resources are around, even though I found the salvation army shelter down the street and got a bed and meal later that night. I feel bad for the guys there, its basically a jail.

I was legally ordered to attend ABHS in Chehalis for six months instead of two years in prison in 2011. This, along with a judge's compassion in Whatcom Co., I credit with saving my life. I had tried another more "upscale" treatment center twice in the previous couple of years. Neither attempt worked. Whether it was my slamming into rock bottom at this time, or the awesome dudes I met during my stay, I have been clean off of opiates since 2011. My stay at ABHS (as much as I tried to get out of it at the time) proved my salvation. Thank you so much to those working at that time and to those there today.
