Anti-Depressants refer to drugs that aid in the treatment of depressive disorders. These include Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), Serotonin and Norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SSNRIs), Norepinephrine and dopamine reuptake inhibitors (NDRIs), Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) and other types of atypical and tricyclic medications. Though each class of antidepressant works differently, most work by regulating certain neurotransmitters in the brain, mainly serotonin, norepinephrine and dopamine. Visit the
