About this Facility'+'+
The client’s length of stay at The Walker Center is determined by clinical needs, minimum standard stay is 28 days. Our residential program, located in a beautiful, modern facility in Gooding, Idaho, offers gender-specific and gender-separate treatment. This best practice standard gives clients the opportunity to discuss important issues and explore the realities of their addiction without the distraction that often comes in mixed-gender programs. The Walker Center uses a number of different treatment modalities to help clients build the foundation for a lasting recovery. Cognitive Behavioral Group counseling is the preferred method in helping clients get a clearer, more realistic picture of how addiction has impacted their lives and the lives of those around them. Group counseling also helps clients discover that they are not alone, not the only one whose use of alcohol and/or drugs has wreaked havoc within the home, work, relationships, finances, health and within their own personal value system.

My counselor there really did help me in was. I was almost at the end of my stay. They put on these meds that make me up and down and even told the doctor that He assured me it was a safe place too try them and too talk too a counselor if there is any issues. So litterly a week or so left and I was having a bad day and talked with a counselor. So I'm referred too Amanda and she and her team determine I need higher level of Care and Forced me too be evaluated by a doctor for Phycratric care. All I wanted was too vent cause I'm bi polor up and down. Amanda Lied and said they will just stabilize me and I'll be allowed back too finish my treatment. Which I stressed was important too me cuz I was finally finding something with my counselor that was working for me. So after the Doctor says I didn't need Phyc care and just needed too talk about trauma. Then surprise when he tries to get me back in they said they already discharged me 🤦‍♂️. So after I'm stuck in a Phyc Ward for 2 days waiting on the walker center too take me back like they said they would. They then backpeddled and say I'm not allowed back cuz of my mental health. Even tho I have two Doctors referrals that said I'd be okay too come back. So I'm stranded at this place and have too get friends too come get me and drive back too the walker center too get all my things. By then im asking what's going on and nobody knows or gives me a straight awnser. One staff said I have too redo the application and two month stay and they will have Carmalin contact me Monday. So Monday comes and Carmalin won't even talk too me just tells her staff too tell me too go too another rehab instead???. I'm all stressed and upset mostly cause there management obviously isn't on good terms. They lie and keep giving me the run around. Finally Deborah Thomas the CEO calls and appoligized saying this shouldn't have happened and that she's training her staff better and cares about my recovery. So I ask okay when can I come back then she tells me Oh you can't we determined your not a right fit for the Walker Center and we aren't the right fit for you. She kept giving me the go around tell she finally says it was due to the fact I made too much of a connection to the staff and counselors??? Wait so I do what they taught me and was honest about everything they lie saying I could orginally come back then make a new reason saying I had too much of a connection? I told her that was a Cop-out felt like she still wasn't being honest about the whole situation. She then has the gull too say I know you want closer and too finish your program but sometimes life's not fair and that all about recovery??? Wow so not only do they happily take the money for my time there but kick me out keep me stranded at a damn Phyc Ward then she has the audacity to act like she's teaching me this life lesson that was just heartless and cruel. I had a very hard time opening up and the moment I do this place used that against me and kicked me too the curb. very heartless company at least the higher ups. I recommend Embrace Life Recovery. they've actually been taking in alot of Ex walker patients that were done wrong like me. I know it's a business but they could have at least not lied and even discharged me right during that stressful situation. I had no tools or anything too help me when I was discharged I already relapsed and am now working on getting into rehab and doing this process all over again. Very upset how heartless that company was too me in the end. I didn't do anything wrong just reached out for help and they kicked me too the curb like nothing 😔.

This place saved my life. I had been to other rehabs and it never helped, but the Walker Center changed all of that and helped me. An amazing place and the councilors are there for you no matter what. I'm almost 2 years sober and I can still call them for help and advice!
