Lol so where do I begin. I checked in on December 18th of 2019. I was discharged about two and a half weeks later. My therapist, Sharon, was INCREDIBLE. We bonded like legitimate friends. We had the same sense of humor which was a bonus. I honestly still miss her till this day. The staff (BHS) however.. omg where do I begin. I felt like I was at a daycare... "Ok Amanda it's time to change your diaper" with a gentle, soft voice type of stuff. Our needs were just too much work for them. For Instance, my cigarettes that were in the "tent" took like 2 days to come in. It took asking 5 BHS' to finally bring me my cigarettes. The best time was when a girl came in with some bacterial disease that lives and spreads in feces. Highly contagious. Me and my roommates demanded our personal bathroom to stay unlocked because we didn't want to catch the disease that probably spread through the public bathroom. We had to run a marathon to finally get them to leave our bathroom unlocked. My roommates were worth my two months of sobriety. They're GEMS. I cried my last night there until I got home. I'm still in contact with them. Tina and Rae were the best BHS'. If it weren't for Rae, I would not have stayed there. She's the reason way I put off signing a 72 hour discharge form the first day I was there. Tina was like a mom to me, I miss them both. Last but not least, this nurse accidentally gave me 600mg of gabapentin. It was some other residents' prescription who had the same first name as me. The pill looked EXACTLY like an antibiotic I was taking for my coughing.. It was white and oval-shaped. At first, the nurse tried blaming me saying "I asked for your birthday". Girl, if you asked me for my birthday this mistake would not have occurred. Anyways, It was my last night so feeling loopy was probably a goodbye gift. They had the audacity to send me a bill for my nicotine gum and vitamins... Like I'm gonna pay after getting drugged up? Well, on the bright side, I'm sober LOL. Toodles!!!

I wanna say that the Willow Lodge the BHS's the nursing staff and the therapist are amazing. With that being said I would still not recommend this place to anyone. The reasons for that are false advertisement on your marketing there is no horseback riding, pet therapy happened once in the month that I was there, no activity whatsoever as far as being physical or working out I think they have yoga once a week and it gets canceled all the time. So when I was looking for a mental health facility that was active and also had lots of animals for me to be around I personally was extremely disappointed that I am paying $1500 a dayFor the experience that I got. Your bathrooms cannot be opened if you do not get up for hygiene at specific times either really late in the evening or really early in the morning then you don't get to shower and you don't get to take care of yourself hygiene Wise and that's just ridiculous. Among many other reasons why I don't like the facility was you can tell they're totally understaffed and when you're understaffed you can't take care of the 30+ women that are in the lodge that need assistance. The BHS's are overworked and they're tired and then they get cranky which is understandable. The doctor and psychiatrist treat you like cattle and not human beings they're so rude to you and do not inform you when you have a doctor appointments outside of TK or what's actually going on with you the communication is just not there and it's very frustrating. My favorite thing and one of the best things I got from the program was the DBT skills which I so appreciated and I learned a lot from that and I'm not saying you can't learn a lot from the therapist and the mentors that are there to teach these courses however it was just utter chaos. Very inconsistent with what you were told versus what's in the handbook versus what one person tells you and in the lodge. I also am very upset to find out that I signed papers for a release of information to my doctor and my therapist at home in Texas and they did not receive any information whatsoever while I was gone. Very upsetting to me that they drop the ball and are so irresponsible to not communicate that to my therapist and my Doctor Who needed to know what was going on with me. You sign the damn waivers for a reason and they don't even communicate with your doctor or therapist or whoever you need them to communicate with. I honestly waited a week before writing this review to make sure I was levelheaded and calm down because I was pretty heated when I left that place I will not go back and I will not recommend this place to anyone and the place that I went to that recommend it to me I will definitely be making sure that they do not keep recommending this place to their clients and patients

TK was incredibly helpful in helping me to address mental health concerns. DBT is definitely something I've been using. They also successfully weaned me off of benzos with no serious withdrawal symptoms. I still struggle with the bulimia, so I may go back to address that. The individual and group therapy is amazing. The operational staff, however, leave much to be desired. They are disorganized and don't communicate. They're girls who are plucked right out of college with bachelors in psych. For people with complex disorders like BPD I can say that inconsistency is a huge trigger. There is a high turnover amongst these staff as well. Basically, the lowest level staff, with whom you rely on, on a day to day basis, are the least trained. TK is cheap. They are likely cutting corners trying to pay the fresh graduates little compensation and not training them properly. I was on pine lodge. They kind of ad lib rules there. That being said, if I'm willing to go back then it's obviously a beneficial and life saving place to be. Just don't put a lot of stock in the day to day operations staff, because they suck. It's really not their fault either. It's the fault of management. If you're going for substances, go to pine. Dr. Elenna boddie is a benzo wizard. I had no withdrawal symptoms and I was up to 6 mgs of Xanax a day. It's been a month and still no aftercare solutions.
