ST is a beautiful southwestern environment with amazing therapists and integrative therapy programs. I found the campus and the surrounding landscape to be very healing. The desert environment has a quiet beauty that helped me reconnect to my spirit. Already known for their addiction treatment programs, ST also provides a supportive and educational program for healing developmental, event, and complex trauma. The therapists and staff are compassionate and caring., and they do an amazing job of creating programs and care for a mixed population of residents. Not an easy task! They were diligent in observing safety measures, which was reassuring, as some patients may be at greater risk than they appear. I was there 18 days in the program and I found their it to be incredibly powerful and helpful. Everyone I worked with there was caring, well educated and informed, and committed to the patients. They are up to date on the latest research in neurobiology and brain science. I loved the integrative therapies approach. However, I am not sure that the Meet our Team segment of the website is up to date. My only lasting regret concerning ST was not committing to staying a full 30 days, but they are serious about helping you set up continuing care in your area before you leave.

I am a parent of a patient who was involuntarily discharged after one week of therapy. I spoke with two psychiatrists, Dr. Moyer and therapist Joan-E, who were involved in the discharge, neither could recall specific events that led to the discharge. Neither of these people could speak from the file although both confirmed that there were complaints. Both retracted statements about my child saying that they really weren't sure what had happened. Both promised to send me a copy of his file and list of other programs at residential facilities for him. They took my email address and phone number and so far, day 4, have not responded. The entire program absolutely dropped my child without any of the promised help on a transfer or hand off with information. I have left a total of 5 voicemails to date with no response. All this from a mental health care facility charged with caring for its patients. I am very disappointed.

Sierra Tucson was very happy to take my payment but has shown nothing but negligence and lack of professionalism in my child's treatment.
