Looked around the hospital and visited different floors. The staff is typical hospital staff, stressed but sturdy, not always perfect but friendly and do their best. The hospital is clean but not as organized as I would expect comparing to any top tier hospital. Still, the recovery rooms, even for one day surgeries and other medical procedures, are comfortable and decent. The hospital is built on a hill so it was confusing how to find the entrance, if you don't look carefully for the blue "H" sign. The entrance is actually on floor 5 on the upper part of the hill. So just keep circling around the hospital if you miss a turn and you'll see the "H" signs. Not a bad hospital and service is good from general staff. A few overworked apples here that from time to time can treat patients poorly but I think that's everywhere. Would recommend this hospital.

Over the years overall my experiences have been ok. This hospital is particularly confusing for me but each visit I usually get the help I need to navigate it and the Hospital it self is pretty decent. I like the indoor tunnel to get into the medical arts building on campus and two entrances and walkability make it ok too.My problems are interactions I've had with some of the staff. I didn't have cash to leave the parking area one visit, at the time it was only cash and the guard was so rude about it. I might've left, but I've also been pulled over for being suspicious during another visit (Of course that's not what they said when I was pulled over, but my tail light being out when bringing a client here.My most recent visit, I brought my client to the ENT and the office staff lady was also very rude to me. I'm pretty sure attitude with patients and those with them isn't part of job descriptions, Summit Overlook and Atlantic Health should be reminded of this.

An unmitigated disaster where having a sick child in their ER reception brings back memories of Soviet lines for bread and toilet paper in the 1980s. 5+ hour wait for my daughter, who was diagnosed with severe dehydration and viral pneumonia by her Pediatrician. We entered at 7:15 and by 12:30 am, my daughter and I just couldn't wait anymore, both tired and sleepy. We had no choice but start the one hour drive back home and missed crucial care. Now, the next day, I have to go back to another hospital ER.Not only did we suffer this wait with absolutely no proactive communication whatsoever, but other families did, too. I get that it was a busy night but when you call me for vitals at 8:30 and then ask me to sign papers at 11:30 and by 12:30 am (the next morning) still not even have the courtesy to come relay some information to us and other parents is shameful. This place is slow and the turnover of rooms once people are sent out is pathetic. I was told to stand behind a line when I got there (for privacy concerns for the person at the desk discussing their situation) but then when my turn came, a woman walked up as I was talking and started asking questions. A total disgrace. And the cherry on the top of this story was $4 parking which I still had to pay.
