Avance Counseling

Avance open its doors in May of 1998, we began with groups of volunteer clients for domestic violence counseling. Such clients were receiving individual and family counseling and psychotherapy. We were included on the list of programs in compliance and approved by DHS under the Illinois Protocol for Partner Abuse Intervention Program published by DHS in May of 1999. Avance became a professional Corporation on Mach 9th of 2000.Avance has a unique characteristic in the delivery of services: We use an integrative approach combining mental health, substance abuse and domestic violence counseling. We are in very close contact with victim services agencies and we religiously do partner contacts with at least 40% of victims.We have an effective curriculum to accommodate the cultural needs of our clients.We charge one of the lower fees in Chicago. We are very active in organizing conferences and participating in domestic violence coalition to promote education and intervention.
