It’s Never Too Late For a New Beginning

New Beginnings is nationally recognized for its treatment of alcohol, cocaine, methamphetamines and other drug dependencies. We take great pride in what we do. We provide intensive and individualized treatment programs for adults.

New Beginnings offers a unique treatment environment. Our grounds feature a beautiful and serene setting. We are far removed from the pressures of urban living, nestled on several acres of private wooded lakeshore property. We are located in Waverly, Minnesota, in the converted summer home of Vice President Humphrey. The lake provides a perfect background for our wide range of therapeutic and recreational activities.

New Beginnings actively consults with employees, unions and employee assistance professionals. We assist them in employee retention through supervisor training, drug and alcohol policies and a drug-free workplace.

New Beginnings has developed an effective program for successful treatment. All of the program components are designed to help men and women overcome the physical, emotional, spiritual, behavioral and social aspects of this disease.

New Beginnings programs have been founded on the belief that people who are suffering from this disease deserve treatment that is specifically designed for them. These components are integrated in such a way as to promote healing in all areas of the patient’s life.

All mood-altering chemical dependencies are a primary, progressive, chronic and potentially fatal disease. The effects are significant in all areas of its victim’s life. It also has wide-reaching serious negative consequences for friends, loved ones and coworkers.

At New Beginnings, we support the dignity of the individual patient. We assist the individual and explore the symptoms and consequences of individual chemical use so that the patient can discover the skills and tools necessary to live a sober and rewarding life.

New Beginnings at Waverly offers intensive individualized treatment programs that include residential and outpatient levels of care. We recognize the multiple dimensions of the illness and believe that successful treatment demands the efforts of an interdisciplinary team. This team includes the patient, family, clinicians, and other professionals.

Family Participation
We believe that chemical dependency is a family disease. We treat the family as well as the individual. When there is a chemically dependent person in your family, even if they don’t live with you, it affects everyone. Their chemical use can hurt healthy family functioning.

Family members are encouraged to attend Family Week. They have family only groups, and Combined family and patient groups to promote the healing process. New Beginnings can provide the names of motel’s in the area if needed.

Workshops, films and lectures are provided to educate the family and patient. We invite families to further their recovery by attending in-house AL-ANON meetings.

Call (800) 487-8758 and you will be assigned your personal staff member who will act as a liaison with all other staff. Transportation and whatever else is needed will be provided. When you reach out, we are here for you, 24 hours a day.
