I had my baby here. It was the worst experience I have ever had! When I was giving birth there was like 15 people in the room and I told them that I didn't want that! I also had two nurses that was so horrible to me while I was going through labor.. after the whole entire experience had a student try to stick a huge needle to make an IV in my hand and she bursted my vein. The worst thing about all of this is that I had medical insurance through my work and I had to pay $6000 for this whole horrible experience... I should probably report them

My wife fell and because they thought she may have head trauma the ambulance people thought University Hospital was the best place to take her. Boy were they wrong. My wife got to the ER around 2:15 Friday afternoon. The first people to see my wife was a financial counselor followed by a resident physician, an attending physician and a student. They couldn't have been there more than a couple of minutes because I arrived about 15 minutes later and they were already gone. I told the nurse that there was a possibility of a brain bleed and that my wife needed a CT scan. About an hour later they came to take my wife to X-ray. I asked about the CT scan and they said there wasn't one ordered. Seriously! She's got a goose egg on her temple with obvious bruising and no CT scan? It was after 8:00PM when she was finally taken to have the scan. We got the results around 9:45- 10:00PM. Luckily the scan was negative for bleeding on the brain. During all of this there was a vile of blood laying on the table next to the sharps disposal box. I don't know if it was my wife's or someone else's but it didn't belong there. Next came the discharge nurse who put a sling on my wife and tried to send her on her way with the IV needles still in my wife's wrist. I pointed that out to him and he removed them but my wife was now bleeding profusely where he had removed the IV. I had to point that out to him too. When we finally arrived home I had to not only remove the electrodes used for her EKG but the wire leads were still attached to them. My wife was there for over 8 hours with nothing more than a few ice chips for thirst, nothing to eat and she was dehydrated when she got home. As of this writing we still have not seen the results of the blood draw and I don't think we will. You'll be better off going anywhere else other than here for an emergency. And if it is suggested that you come here like it was us, ask for another suggestion.

A truly top notch facility. The staff and employees here have a pep in their step, and I'm not surprised why. If I worked in such a palatial place, I'd feel like a million bucks.

I was seen in the Emergency Room last Tuesday morning with a puncture wound to my head. I was triaged rapidly and taken back for evaluation and treatment in short notice. I would like to thank the Nursing and medical staff that took care of me. They all showed me that they really cared about my comfort and condition. The physicians (all 3 who saw me) made me as comfortable as possible and provided me with rapid and appropriate treatment. The R.N. S who cared for me also truly did show the cared by their kind words and actions. I couldn't have asked for a better experience in a painful and stressful situation. Bless them all for being there for me as a family member would be cared for. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my medical needs as I had the Best care I could have wished for.
