Been in the program at Mission coming up on three years now. I've never had a problem with the the staff, the counselors, or the doctors. Clinic hours are clearly marked on the door, and any upcoming temporary changes to the days/hours of operation or to policies and procedures are clearly posted several days in advance.Mandatory 1 hour weekly counseling for Medicaid patients annoyed me at first, especially since self-pay/non-Medicaid patients have no such requirements. It didn't help my dim view of mandatory counseling for my first counselor to tell me that I could basically "buy out" of counseling for $63 per week or pay $30 and only have to do a half-hour. If counseling isn't mandatory for everyone, and if you can "buy out" of counseling and still be considered "in recovery," then why should I believe that counseling is a necessary, or even particularly beneficial, part of treatment? My current counselor and I have actually had some productive sessions, and I truly believe that he is interested in my well being and recovery, but if counseling were to become optional for me or if I could afford the $63 weekly "buy out fee," I would most likely opt out. There are a few other policies that I have some minor issues with ($10/week "dosing fee" that those of us who are allowed to take home 2 weeks worth of medication at a time have to pay even on the weeks we don't have to come in to dose, for example), but I've definitely seen the program do more good than harm, and from what I've heard from fellow clients, I'm glad I started at Mission, because the other well know methadone program around here doesn't sound like they do things the "right way" at all.

I love this place!! I was so nervous to try it out and wasn't sure if it was going to work for me. My tolerance on fent pills was so high I didn't think anything was going to work for me, and I also thought methadone was going to be like taking subs, but I can tell you it's not even close. Doing this program has changed my life for the better in so many ways its unreal. My family isn't mad at me anymore all the time. I'm not going into a bathroom every chance I get to shoot up. I don't have marks all over my body anymore i have to hide. Someone said "taking methadone is just switching from one opiate to another", but that's totally incorrect! I am no longer living that miserable lifestyle doing things I thought I would never or taking from my family or hanging out with people that are using. Doing this program is the best thing I ever did for myself!!

I have been on continuous methadone maintenance for 44 years now. I have been on programs in Oklahoma City, New York City, Las Vegas, Portland, Maine, and Providence, Rhode Island.I have two primary issues. First of all, based on my knowledge after 44 years on methadone maintenance, I firmly believe no one should be on methadone for more than three years. Detoxing from long term methadone maintenance is quite difficult, and high dose, long term methadone maintenance can lead to heart problems with the QT interval that causes a slowing of the time between two beats of your heart. This can, in rare cases, result in seizures and / or potentially fatal heart issues, Do not use any methadone clinic that does not do an annual EKG as part of their treatment. Fortunately, Mission Treatment's doctor, Larry Lovelace, is highly knowledgeable about addiction treatment, and he insisted that Mission Treatment include an EKG as a part of each patient's annual physical. My other issue is this. When a patient has been on maintenance for over three years, and is stable and clean, they should be able to be privately prescribed methadone, which would lower both the financial burden and the impact on their personal life. Sadly, Oklahoma will not allow this.I have made the decision to detox after 44 years due to the financial burden of methadone. The cost of the clinic and transportation is taking more than $300 a month out of my budget, and that negatively impacts my life more than methadone helps me after 44 years free from heroin use. I am down to 9 mg from 120 mg, and I am suffering. I would stay on methadone if Medicare paid for it, but all our Federal government will do for those of us suffering from the disease of addiction is make speeches about the "Opioid Crisis." They refuse to pay for treatment.Do not be deceived into thinking SoonerCare is paying for methadone. They are not. They are paying the clinic for counseling. As I am 68, and I receive Social Security, I was turned down by the state of Oklahoma for supplemental SoonerCare to pay the clinic. As I said, I would consider staying on lower dose of methadone if it was not a financial burden. The discomfort caused by detoxing from long term maintenance is absolutely awful, and it doesn't end when you get down to zero. There is secondary withdrawal, called Post-Acute-Withdrawal Syndrome, which can last for months. In my case, this is complicated by the fact that I have seven bullet wounds in my body, which I received during Vietnam, And I suffer from chronic pain, which was blocked by a high dose of Methadone. Now that I am on a very low dose, I am experiencing all the pain from my injuries, and Medicare will not pay to help me with pain management because I am on methadone maintenance. Frankly, our current health care in America has completely disenfranchised those of us who suffer from the disease of addiction, especially the elderly, which in my opinion, is absolutely criminal. So there you have it. Mission Treatment Center is a professionally run, for profit, methadone clinic. It is clean, the staff are trained counselors and nurses, and I personally have never seen a staff member deliberately abuse or belittle a patient. Disagreements happen; we are all human and subject to emotions, moods, and physical discomfort.Would I go on Methadone again?. Yes; it saved my life. Almost everyone I knew from my years as a heroin addict is long dead.Would I stay on Methadone for 44 years again? Hell, No. I am a firm believer in an 18 month methadone maintenance to abstinence program as the treatment regimen for opiate addiction. For anyone who reads this who has already been on Methadone maintenance, I happily recommend Mission Treatment. There are other clinics that may be just as good, but there are none better. For those of you who have never been on methadone before and are considering methadone maintenance, please, for god's sake, consult with a medical professional with no financial stake in your treatment before you go on methadone and make an informed decision.

I give 3 stars bc although the Dr and counselors are very nice the nurses are very rude and if you should ask to raise your dose they make you feel like a drug addict.i asked the black girl for advice and was told "it's on you". 2 days ago came in throwing up, had to go to the E.R. my discharge papers said I was suffering from narcotic withdrawal but when I asked to see the Dr I was told by the black girl that I wasn't priority. Not sure what it would take to be priority since the E.R. wasn't enough.if you're in need of help I'd suggest a different clinic.
